Detailed Safari: 4-Day Flying Rwanda Gorilla Trek
Day 1: Arrival & Kigali city tour
Welcome to Rwanda! Our professional driver guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport. He will briefly take you through the trip plan and then transfer you to Kigali city center for the city tour. You will visit the Gisozi genocide museum where you will learn more about what transpired during the April 1994 genocide. You will also visit the Belgium museum, craft markets, Nyamirambo art gallery among others. After the city tour, you will be taken back to the hotel for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 2: Fly to Musanze and visit the Ellen DeGeneres museum
After breakfast, you will checkout of the hotel and transfer to Kigali international airport for the flight to Musanze. Upon arrival at Musanze airstrip, you will be transferred to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will be taken to the Ellen DeGeneres museum for virtual gorilla trekking.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Ibwiwachu cultural tour
After an early breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for the briefing about the code of conduct and how to behave around the gorillas. You are strongly advised to carry your packed lunch, enough drinking water and hiring porters is an added advantage because the time taken in the forest cannot be predicted. Following the briefing and in the company of ranger guides, gorilla families will be allocated to you and thereafter you will enter the forest to search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking takes between 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night. Gorilla trekking requires physical fitness however clients who are not fit enough can either use sedan chairs or hire potters. After meeting the gorillas, you will only be permitted to spend with them and during the one hour you are allowed to take pictures and record videos of the gorillas. After the trek, you will be taken back to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you will go for the Ibwiwachu cultural tour.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking and fly to Kigali
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. Volcanoes national park is a home to these endangered golden monkey species. Golden monkey trekking takes less time compared to gorilla trekking because golden monkeys are located easily. After the trek, you will be transferred back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, you will be transferred back to Musanze airstrip for the flight back to Kigali for the flight to your next destination.
