Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Welcome to Rwanda! Our professional driver guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport. You will then embark on the 2 hours and 30-minute journey to Volcanoes National Park to track the gentle giants. During the journey, you will enjoy the beautiful views of the land of a thousand hills. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation. If time allows, you will go to the Ellen DeGeneres museum for virtual gorilla trekking.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Ibwiwachu cultural tour
After an early breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for the briefing about the code of conduct and how to behave around the gorillas. You are strongly advised to carry your parked lunch, enough drinking water and hiring porters is an added advantage because the time taken in the forest cannot be predicted. Following briefing and in the company of ranger guides, gorilla families will be allocated to you and there after you will enter the forest to search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking takes between 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night. Gorilla trekking requires physical fitness however clients who are not fit enough can either use sedan chairs or hire potters. After meeting the gorillas, you will only be permitted to spend with them one hour and during the one hour you are allowed to take pictures and record videos of the gorillas. After the trek, you will be taken back to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you will go for the Ibwiwachu cultural tour.

Day 3: Second gorilla trek & boat ride along twin lakes
After breakfast and with your lunch box, the driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of gorilla families. You will then start the incredible gorilla trekking adventure. During gorilla trekking, physical fitness is essential most of the times. Many times, gorilla trekking lasts between 1 -6 hours depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night and trekkers are allowed to spend 1 hour with the gorillas. Gorilla trekking is a wonderful experience and when you locate the gorillas, you will watch them play, nurture their young ones, feed, interact and guard each other.
After the gorilla trek, you will be taken to the twin lakes of Burera ad Ruhondo for a relaxed boat ride. During the boat ride, you will appreciate the lake’s beautiful scenery and watch the setting sun. The boat cruise offers golden opportunities to be amazed by the magnificent appearance of the Virunga mountains which are found in the area. There is also the scenery of the spectacular terrain, the charmingly terraced hills, tropical rainforests, and attractive tinny islands located within the lakes.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. Volcanoes national park is a home to these endangered golden monkey species. Golden monkey trekking takes less time compared to gorilla trekking because golden monkeys are located easily. After the trek, you will be transferred back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, you will be transferred back to Kigali international airport for the flight to your next destination.
