A 6-Day Akagera Big Five and Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trek Safari.
Day 1: Welcome to Rwanda
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our driver guide will pick you up and then transfer you to the hotel for relaxation and an overnight stay. If you arrive early, you will do a Kigali city tour which will include a visit to the Gisozi genocide museum, Belgium museum, craft markets and local markets.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park with an afternoon boat cruise and night game drive
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver guide and then transferred to the airport for the flight to Akagera Airstrip. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be transferred to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will take a relaxed boat ride along Lake Ihema, where you will sight animals such as Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes and numerous bird species.
At night, you will have early dinner and then set out for a night game drive in search for the nocturnal animals.
Day 3: Morning game drive and Evening Game Drive
Following an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point of the game drive. During the game drive, you will have an opportunity of spotting different wildlife species and a variety of bird species. You will spot animals such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, lions among others. After the game drive, you will go back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, you will set out for an afternoon game drive and during this game drive, you will spot animals such as Elephants, Zebras, impalas, lions among others. After the game drive, you will be transferred to the lodge for relaxation, diner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Today after an early breakfast, you will checkout of the hotel for the transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe takes approximately 5 hours driving. Upon arrival, you will settle in at the lodge for lunch and you will use the afternoon for relaxation.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking & canopy walk
Wake up very early, have breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters with parked lunch. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking and after briefing you will embark on the chimpanzee trekking experience. You will hike for a short period of time until you locate where the chimpanzees slept the previous night. You will spot chimpanzees jumping from one tree to another making a lot of noise. In case you are interested in taking pictures, you must be very attentive because the chimpanzees the jump st a very high speed. When you spot them, you will only be permitted to spend with them an hour. In the evening, you will go for the canopy walk which lasts about 2 hours. Afterwards, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Kigali for the flight back home
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kigali international airport for the flight to your next destination.
