Detailed Itinerary: 6-Day Flying Akagera Big Five and Nyungwe Tour.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali and transfer to the hotel
After touching down at Kigali International Airport, you will the Rwanda visa at the immigration desk. Afterwards, you will walk to the arrivals where you will meet our representative who will introduce you to the driver guide. You will then be transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.
Accommodation: The retreat by heaven (Luxury)/ Governor’s residence (Midrange)

Day 2: Fly to Akagera national park with afternoon boat cruise and night game drive
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver guide and then transferred to the airport for the flight to Akagera Airstrip. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be transferred to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will take a relaxed boat ride along Lake Ihema where you will sight animals such as Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes and numerous bird species.
At night, you will have early dinner and then setout for a night game drive in search for the nocturnal animals.
Day 3: Full game drive
The time spent on the game drive will be determined by yourgame viewing interest. Wake up early, have breakfast and then set out for a game drive at Akagera national park. The game drives will be conducted in safari vehicles with pop up to enable you have better views of the animals. During the game drive, watch out for some animal species such as elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelopes, hippos, Topi, Zebras, Impalas. Lions and rhinos are at times hard to spot but can be spotted on lucky days. The park is a home to numerous wildlife and bird species. After lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive and during this game drive, you will spot animals such as Elephants, zebras, impalas, lions among others. After the game drive, you will be transferred to the lodge for relaxation, diner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Fly to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to the airstrip for the helicopter ride to Nyungwe National Park. On arrival at the airstrip, the driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy Walk
On this day following a tasty breakfast at the lodge, you will get into the safari vehicle for the transfer to the park headquarters. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed by the ranger guides about what to expect during chimpanzee trekking. In the company of the armed ranger guide, you will get into the forest and start the search for the chimpanzees. During the hike, please bear in mind that you will spot primates and numerous bird species. You will be granted an opportunity of spending an hour with the chimpanzees after locating the. You will watch the chimpanzees jump from one tree to another, play, feed and nurture their young ones. After the trek, you will be taken back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
In the late afternoon, you will head back to the park headquarters for the canopy walk. Nyungwe forest national park has got the longest canopy walk and zipline in East Africa.

Day 6: Fly to Kigali for your flight back home.
After breakfast and depending on your flight time, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Kigali to board your flight to your next destination.
