Detailed Itinerary: Rwanda Gorillas and Serengeti Big Five Safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will proceed through immigration and obtain your Rwanda visa before heading to the arrivals area, where you will meet your driver-guide. From Kigali, you will embark on a scenic approximately three-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the Rwandan countryside along the way.
Upon arrival in the park, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund for an engaging virtual gorilla trekking experience and an introduction to Rwanda’s remarkable mountain gorillas and conservation efforts. After the visit, you will continue to your lodge for check-in and some time to relax. In the evening, enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay as you prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Ibwiwachu cultural tour
After breakfast, you will get into the safari vehicle for the transfer to the Kinigi park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. We highly advise our clients to park lunch, carry enough fluids and hire porters to assist them since the time spend during gorilla trekking cannot be predicted. Following briefing, you will be allocated gorilla families and thereafter get into the jungle to search for gentle giants. Gorilla trekking takes between 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night. When you spot the mountain gorillas, you will only be allowed to enjoy their company for 1 hour. In the evening, you will go for the Ibwiwachu cultural tour.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will head to the Volcanoes national park headquarters for briefing. Golden monkeys are endangered species situated within Rwanda’s Volcanoes national park. Golden monkeys are easily located and locating them does not take so long. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Later, you will be transferred to Kigali. If time allows, you will do a brief city tour.

Day 4: Transfer to the airport for the flight to Kilimanjaro
Depending on your flight schedule, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kigali international airport for the flight to Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro, the driver guide will pick you up and transfer to Arusha for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Tarangire national park
Tarangire national park amazes everyone
At Tarangire national park, the elephant herds surpass the crowds.
Very many tourists underrate Tarangire. The ancient baobab trees, the river, the hundreds of elephants moving are the reason as to why we love it.
The tone for everything that follows is set by a full-day game drive.

Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti with evening game drive
Have breakfast and then checkout of the lodge and transfer to Serengeti national park. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery. Before you head to Serengeti, you will have a brief stopover at the Masai village. Upon arrival at the park, you will check-in at the lodge for lunch and then head out for an evening game drive. During the game drive, you will spot animals such as zebra, wildebeest, lions, cheaters among others.

Day 7: Hot air balloon and afternoon game drive
Wake up early and have breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the to the starting point of hot air balloon. During the hot air balloon safari, you will experience a thrilling scenery over Serengeti national park. You will be amazed by the breathtaking sunrise and watch wildlife from above. After the amazing balloon ride experience, you will enjoy the champagne breakfast in the wilderness. You will spend the remaining hours of the day enjoying the game drive.

Day 8: Full day game drive
Today you will spend the whole day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti national park with morning and afternoon game drive. During the game drives, you will have an opportunity of spotting the herds of wildebeest, lions, zebras, giraffes, leopards, elephants, hyenas among others. After the morning game drive, you will have picnic lunch and then continue with the search for animals. Witness herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, and a diversity of birds.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your afternoon adventure.

Day 9: Morning game drive and transfer to the Ngorongoro highlands
Have breakfast and set out for yet another exciting game drive in the vast plains of Serengeti national park. After the game drive, you will have a scenic transfer that climbs into the Ngorongoro conservation area highlands. Tonight you will have an overnight stay at the rim and the view will be a lifetime memory.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater and transfer to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro crater for a full day game drive. Ngorongoro crater is often referred to as a lost world. During the game drive, expect to see animals such as lions, black rhino, flamingos, hippos, buffaloes all contained within one volcanic bowl. A game drive on the crater floor is genuinely incomparable to anything else on the continent. After a full day of exploring the crater floor, you will be transferred to Arusha.

Day 11: Transfer to the airport
