A 4-Day Flying Gorilla Trek and Habituation Safari in Uganda

Detailed Safari: Gorilla Trek and Habituation 

Day 1: Fly to Kisoro and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Entebbe Airport for the flight to Kisoro. Upon arrival at Kisoro airstrip, you will be met and greeted by our representative, who will brief you on what to expect during the 3-day gorilla trekking adventure. You will then embark on the journey to the home of mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation adventure

After breakfast and with packed lunch, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, you will proceed to the forest for the via the thick forest, slippery terrain. You should carry packed lunch and enough drinking water. This experience requires physical fitness and gorilla habituation may take 4 to 8 hours or even the entire day.

When you meet the mountain gorillas, you will be permit to spend 4 hours with them. You take pictures of the gorillas, watch them feed, play, nurture their young ones. Please bear in mind that feeding the mountain gorillas is prohibited and using flash lights is forbidden.

Following the habituation experience, you will hike back to the starting point of the lodge and then transfer to the lodge trek back to the lodge, remembering the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking adventure

After an early breakfast and with a lunch box, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about the code of conduct during gorilla trekking. After briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family and then enter the forest in company of armed ranger guides. You will enjoy the beauty and freshness of this impenetrable forest. Bwindi is a home to the half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. You will continue through the thick vegetation to trek these gentle giants and the distance to be walked will be determined by where they slept the previous night. After spotting the gorillas, you will only be allowed to spend with the one hour and this is done for conservation reasons. Watch these endangered species as they socialize, feed, play, feed and train their young ones. You will head back to the lodge for refreshment and relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Kisoro for the flight to Entebbe.

This is the last day of your gorilla trekking and habituation adventure. After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kisoro airstrip for the flight back to Entebbe international airport for your flight to the next destination.
