Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Park

A representative from Luxury Gorilla Trekking Tours will briefly take your through what to expect during the 3 days gorilla habituation safari. He will hand you over to the driver guide who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The transfer from Kampala to Bwindi takes approximately 10 hours driving. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in south western Uganda and is the home of half of the remaining mountain gorillas. The drive from Kampala to Bwindi is very long but worth it. Your first stopover will be at the equator for pictures and shopping from the craft shops if you are interested. The next stopover will be in Mbara for hot lunch and refreshments. Along the way, you will enjoy great views of the landscape, the long horned Ankole cattle, tea plantations open grasslands. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation adventure

After breakfast and with packed lunch, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, you will proceed to the forest for the via the thick forest, slippery terrain. You should carry packed lunch and enough drinking water. This experience requires physical fitness and gorilla habituation may take 4 to 8 hours or even the entire day.

When you meet the mountain gorillas, you will be permit to spend 4 hours with them. You take pictures of the gorillas, watch them feed, play, nurture their young ones. Please bear in mind that feeding the mountain gorillas is prohibited and using flash lights is forbidden.

Following the habituation experience, you will hike back to the starting point of the lodge and then transfer to the lodge trek back to the lodge remembering the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
