Detailed Safari: 12-Day Primates and Wildlife Safari in Uganda
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali
Welcome to the land of a thousand hill. Upon arrival at the airport, our driver guide will pick you up at the airport and then transfer you to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Kigali city tour
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali city centre for the city tour. During the city tour, you will visit the Gisozi genocide museum where you will learn more about what transpired during the April 1994 genocide. You will also visit the Belgium museum, craft markets, Nyamirambo art gallery, among others. After the city tour, you will be taken back to the hotel for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Dian Fossey
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and cross the Cyanika boarder for the transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have a brief stopover at the Ellen de generous museum for virtual gorilla trekking. Virtual gorilla trekking will give you an over view of what will happen in the actual gorilla trek. You will then proceed with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking
This day, you will enjoy an encounter with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! After a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge. At 7:40 AM, you will attend a briefing with the rangers. This session will begin at 8:00 AM, as you will join others who will also be participating in the same activity that day. After the briefing, we will head to our respective gorilla families. You will begin the trek in search of the gorillas with the help of trackers who always leave before you, so by the start of the trek you will have already communicated with the advance team. After encountering the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them.
After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation

Day 5: Waterfall hike & Batwa cultural tour
After an early breakfast and with packed lunch, the driver guide will drive you to the park headquarters to start the waterfall hike. This guided scenic waterfall hike takes approximately 2-3 hours featuring the 33-meter Munyaga. During the waterfall hike, you will see primates, different bird species, rich forest biodiversity among others. In the evening, you will visit the Batwa community to learn more about their ways of life.

Day 6: Fly to Kibale Forest national park
After breakfast and depending on your flight schedule, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kisoro airstrip for the flight to Kasese. Upon arrival at Kasese airstrip, you will get into the safari vehicle for the 1 hours drive to Kibale Forest national park. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation. If time allows, you will be taken for an optional Bigodi community walk.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and wetland visit
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu at for briefing about the code of conduct during the chimpanzee trek. Chimpanzee trekking at Kibale Forest national park starts as early as 8am.
Chimpanzees are the closest relatives to human beings and they share 98% of their DNA with human beings. During the search for these charming chimpanzees, you will get a golden opportunity of seeing numerous more animal and primate species like L’Hoests monkeys, black- red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, bush babies, and many bird species such as the yellow-spotted nictor, the rampant puppet, and the crowned eagle, as well as elephants, which are mammals.
Kibale forest national park is situated on an altitude of 3,300 feet and this tropical rainforest is a home to countless chimpanzee communities. There are more than 100 members in each chimpanzee group offering creating a highly competitive social structure. The adult males dominate the groups and it’s their responsibility to protect the chimpanzee community from any harm. You will have the chance of observing them playing, feeding, socializing, and jumping through the trees. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and in the evening, you will go for the Bigodi wetland visit.

Day 9: Fly from Kasese to Murchison falls with late afternoon game drive
After breakfast and depending on the flight schedule, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kasese airstrip for the transfer to Pakuba. Upon arrival at Pakuba airstrip, our driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, the driver guide will take you for a late afternoon game drive since afternoon is the best time to see wildlife such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes and giraffes.

Day 10: Morning game drive, top of the falls hike & evening game drive
After an early breakfast, you will get into your safari vehicle for the drive to the wilderness to search for bird species and wildlife. During the game drive, you will have an opportunity of sighting animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, kobs, giraffes, antelopes and may bird species. After the game drive, you will hike to the top of the falls for a picnic lunch. At the top of the falls, you will have an astonishing experience as you watch the picturesque falls squeezing into the rocks in an 8m gorge. Please ensure that you take as many pictures as possible for memories.
After the top of the falls hike, you will return to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you will go for yet another exciting game drive with the major aim of searching for animals.

Day 11: Morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise & night game drive
After an early breakfast, you will get into your safari vehicle and setoff for another exciting game drive to search for lions, giraffes, leopards, elephants, antelopes among other animals if you are lucky. The game drive usually takes approximately 3-4 hours depending on what nature has to offer that day. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise along the Nile. During the boat cruise, you will have the capability of spotting numerous animals such as Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos, African elephants relaxing along the Nile banks and a number of bird species like the bee-eaters, African jacana among others. This launch cruise will take you up to the bottom of Murchison falls and while there you will have the ability of seeing these beautiful falls clearly for picture moments.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and early dinner. At night, you will head back to the park for a night game drive in search of the nocturnals.

Day 12: Rhino tracking and transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast, you will say goodbye to the mighty Murchison falls national park and transfer to Zziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. During rhino tracking, you will spot both the black and white rhinos. After Rhino tracking, have lunch and then proceed to Entebbe for your flight back home.
