Detailed Itinerary: 9-Day Rwanda Gorillas and Tanzania Safari Package
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Welcome to Rwanda! Upon touching down, the driver guide will pick you up from the airport. You will then then embark on the 3 hours journey to Volcanoes National Park. On the journey to Volcanoes, you will go through the rolling hills of the Virunga mountains.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & Ibwiwachu cultural tour
Following breakfast, you will get ready for the long-waited gorilla trekking. We highly advise clients to carry packed lunch and enough drinking water. You will head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. After briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family and each family will be allocated to 8 individuals. In company of armed ranger guides, you will get into the forest to search for the gorillas. Gorilla trekking takes 1-5 hours depending on the gorilla movements. After the trek, the guide will transfer you back to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to the airport for the flight to Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer to Kigali International Airport for the flight to Kilimanjaro. Upon touching down at Kilimanjaro, you will meet the driver guide at the arrivals. He will briefly introduce himself you and then drive you to Arusha for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Tarangire national park with full day game drive
Following breakfast, you will embark on the 2 hours journey to Tarangire national park. This national park is famous for its enormous population of elephant herds plus the 4 big five mammals. During the game drive, you will spot animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, warthogs, zebras among others. The added advantage of visiting Tarangire is that it is no crowded with tourists. After the game drive, you will head to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5&6: Serengeti national park great migration
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to northern Serengeti which offers the best viewing of wildebeest migration. Today you will spend the whole day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti national park with morning and afternoon game drive. During the game drives, you will have an opportunity of spotting the herds of wildebeest, lions, zebras, giraffes, leopards, elephants, hyenas among others. After the morning game drive, you will have picnic lunch and then continue with the search for animals. Witness herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, and a diversity of birds.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your afternoon adventure.

Day 7: Hot air balloon and afternoon game drive
After a tasty breakfast, you will be transferred to the hot air balloon launch site for briefing about safety. You will then ascend over the limitless plains see the sunrise, wildlife and beautiful landscapes from above. Afterwards, the hot air balloon team will serve you snacks and head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will set out for yet another exciting game drive. During the game drive, you will spot animals such wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, hippos, antelopes and numerous bird species. Finally, you will be taken back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at leisure and with packed lunch, you will leave Serengeti for Ngorongoro conservation area. Our professional and knowledgeable driver guide will share knowledge regarding the wildlife and the beautiful scenery as you transit from Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater. Today you will spend the night at the crater’s edge.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater and transfer to Arusha
The magnificent views of the sunrise over the edge of the crater are a worthwhile glimpse for dawn enthusiasts. Following heavy breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you down the venturesome track into the crater. Ngorongoro crater is a UNESCO world heritage size and is among the seven wonders of Africa that boosts one of the most mind-blowing ecosystems. Because of its dense population of animals, the crater stands out as the best place for game viewing Tanzania’s protected areas. Within just few minutes, you will spot the wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, elephants, bird species among others. After the game drive, you will be transferred to Arusha.
